Seneca was tasked by Enim to develop an innovative industrial process for recovering critical and strategic minerals from electronic waste, while considering environmental, social, and economic factors. This new process, based on hydrometallurgical extraction, avoids the harmful emissions of pyrometallurgy, which are detrimental to the environment.<br> <br>The mandate also involved overseeing the construction of the world’s first demonstration facility to use this technology, located in Thetford Mines, Quebec.<br> <br>With its comprehensive support approach, Seneca mobilized its expertise in record time to deliver a project with the potential to revolutionize the recovery chain for obsolete electronic products on a global scale.<br>
