The Project & Its Challenges
The engineering team at Seneca's Ultragen affiliate was tasked with producing a FEED II report, achieving approximately 20% progress in detailed engineering, to provide the required precision for the cost estimate and to secure environmental and construction permits.<br> <br>The grassroots UMO recycling plant required 7 ISBL processing units: dehydration unit, thermal oxidizer and SO2 scrubber, LVGO vacuum distillation unit, wiped film evaporator unit, VGO hydrotreater unit, LFO distillation unit, and refinery base oil fractionation unit.<br> <br>The plant also required OSBL/utility units, including the wastewater treatment system, flare system, plant/instrument air, hydrogen and nitrogen production unit, cooling water system, steam production unit, oil heating and storage system, and feed/products shipping and receiving system.<br>
